Popular Clifton Park Restaurant Replacing One Closed in Malta
A popular eatery that was a staple on Route 9 in Malta for a decade has been sold. Good news, another restaurant will be taking over.
A familiar spot in Malta is getting a fresh new chapter. The building that housed Dunning Street Station Bar and Grille has been sold, and a new local name is moving in.
After 10 years of running The Station, owners Bob McKenna and Scott Ringwood decided to close up shop. Like many in the industry, they ran into persistent staffing challenges after the pandemic and chose to shift their focus to their other restaurant, Lake Ridge in Round Lake.
In a message to the community, they expressed their appreciation for the decade of support and stated that they were excited to pass the torch to another local restaurant. That new restaurant is from the same owners behind Harvest Grain in Clifton Park.
According to the Albany Business Review, their second location will feature the same menu, which includes pizza, wings, wraps, calzones, subs, and pasta dishes, north of Malta. No alcohol will be served, but the space will offer dine-in, takeout, and delivery. The large dining area, which seats over 70, is a big step up from most small pizza shops and will make it a good spot for families.
The building came fully furnished and equipped, minus the pizza oven, which is in the works. The new owners had been searching for a second location for a while and say this one felt like the right fit from the start.
The hope is to open soon, offering a casual, family-friendly restaurant that brings something new to the Malta dining scene.
