Movie makers couldn't have dreamed up a more thrilling, fitting end to a local state title game.  It was yet another feat in the remarkable high school career of the hoop legend from Glens Falls; Joseph Girard III.

Down by a point, just a few ticks left on the clock and a state championship on the line, New York's most prolific high school basketball player turned a Hollywood dream into a Glens Falls reality.

Teammates got the ball in the hands of Joseph Girard III, down by a point, with just a few ticks left on the clock.  Girard split two defenders and then slipped under one final player and somehow was able to kiss the ball off the glass and in the bucket as time expired. Glens Falls won the Class B state championship 75-74 in overtime over Lowville.

Saturday night's Class B boys' basketball state final was not only thrilling for the Capital Region, but it was highlighted across the country as it was featured on ESPN Sunday morning.
