Latham Circle JC Penney Closing

There are two stores remaining in what’s left at the Latham Circle Mall, and that will be changing around January 4, 2014.

Lowes will remain open. In the story from News 10 ABC, the next to go will be JC Penney. The rest of the mall was turned into mountains of rubble earlier this year.

Some of the people that still work at the Latham store will be getting positions in other stores. There’s a plan to rebuild on the property, and rename it to The Shoppes Of Latham Circle. We had a story about the possibility of a new supermarket being part of the new plan.

Of course, most of our memories of the former mall were when the WGNA studios and offices were located there.
