Latest Upstate Snowfall Predictions For Friday Storm

March continues to be a busy month for snow in Upstate New York.

While this snowmaker will not dump a ton of snow, it will be a little bit of a nuisance as you try to get out and about on Saturday morning.

When Will The Snow Start?

According to News Channel 13, Upstate New York will be on the edge of a snowstorm that is mainly tracking over Pennsylvania and New Jersey that will bring light snow accumulations to the area Friday night into Saturday morning.

Will This Be Our Last Blast Of Winter Weather?

The forecast also says this could just be a little warm-up for our next snow event potentially coming early next week as our busy last few weeks of winter roll on.

News Channel 13 says we can expect the following for snowfall in the Capital Region and surrounding areas of Upstate New York:

Gloversville/Amsterdam

Saratoga Springs/Glens Falls

Saratoga Springs and Areas north can expect a dusting up to 2 inches of snow.

Pittsfield, MA/Bennington, VT

Pittsfield, Massachusetts, and the Berkshires could get 2 to 3 inches, while Bennington can expect a dusting to 2 inches.

Areas on the western edge of the Capital Region can expect 2 to 4 inches of accumulation.

Most areas to the west of the greater Capital Region will see one to 3 inches of snow.

The greater Albany area can expect 1 to 3 inches of snow with this storm.

South of the I-90 Corridor

According to the National Weather Service, areas south of Interstate 90 in the Catskills and Hudson Valley will get the most snow with anywhere from 3 to 6 inches expected.

The wet and heavy lake effect snowstorm pelted the area, making traveling impossible. Flights were canceled at Buffalo-Niagara Airport, causing headaches for travelers heading into the Thanksgiving holiday week. Driving bans are in effect in multiple WNY counties, making it illegal for employers to require their workers to commute.
