I've binged a lot of television in the last few years. Actually, I've probably binged an unhealthy amount now that I think of it. But, hey, we all have our vices and this is the healthier of 'em I have to believe.

I'll state this, I rarely just sit and binge watch. I'm typically doing something else while watching/listening. It's a talent I picked up at a very young age and have brought with me into adulthood. Not many can do such a thing and still know all of the tid bits happening within a series. Me? I got this. (Except Game of Thrones...I sat and just watched and still couldn't stay with their story lines.)

I've binged everything from Mad Men to Californication to Dexter, The Wonder Years, Wayward Pines, Breaking Bad, Saved by the Bell, Friends and Orange is the New Black. My taste in television is a bit all over the place but a lot of stuff from the 90's and early 2000's has a special place in my heart.

My current binge: The Golden Girls.

Okay, go ahead and judge me but it's one of those shows that if I catch it on TV, I have to stop and watch it. There's such nostalgia that comes with a show like The Golden Girls; I can remember watching it with my Grandma when I was little, but I was too little to remember any of the actual episodes. My Mom always says that Bea Arthur aka Dorothy reminds her of my Grandma, too. Maybe that's what made me go back on Hulu and click "watch" for the first time a few weeks ago.

As I started watching, I found myself laughing and while you can tell the times have changed with fashion and even just how women present themselves today (example: the girls were in their 50s/60s on the show, yet my Mom is currently that age and looks nowhere near as old as they do on the show. No women really do these days.) the humor and reality of life hasn't. Imagine that a show from the 80's/early 90's still holds up today!

What's fun about watching this show again is that since I was so young the first go around, it feels like I'm watching for the first time. It feels familiar but new. It feels like home and catching up with an old friend. I bet if I threw a party, the biggest gift would even be from them. I think you can figure out what the card would say.

What are you currently binging?
