After 44 years serving the Capital Region Kurver Kreme is entering a new chapter. The beloved family-owned ice cream stand has been sold marking the end of an era for the current owners while ensuring its legacy continues.

Cheryl and her family who have run Kurver Kreme since 1979 announced the transition with heartfelt gratitude. She said, in a Facebook post,

“This business has been more than just a place to serve ice cream it has been a part of our family’s story and we have been honored to be part of yours."

For decades, Kurver Kreme has been a cherished gathering spot for birthdays, first dates, and family traditions. Cheryl credits her parents for instilling a strong work ethic and her sons Nick and Nate for their dedication, especially Nick who became her right hand in recent years.

While stepping away is bittersweet Cheryl is confident in the new owners the Hostig and Wagner families who will take over this season.

She said, “I hope you will welcome them with the same warmth and kindness you have shown us. “I will be around to help with the transition ensuring Kurver Kreme remains the place you love.”

Though ownership is changing, Kurver Kreme's heart remains the same: a place where sweet memories are made. Under the new leadership, the community can look forward to many more summers of their favorite frozen treats.
