How Do I Get A Stubborn Grandma To Stop Sending Me Money – Daily Dilemma?
Here is Today's Daily Dilemma:
Every year since I was a kid, my Grandma has sent me a check for $20 on my birthday.
I just turned 35, and she's STILL doing it. Like clockwork, her $20 check came in the mail on my birthday.
I'm a working professional and I make a really good living, so I feel weird accepting these checks from my Grandma.
I'm not complaining I just feel guilty, I know she is not rich and that $20 probably means a lot to her.
Last year I just didn't cash it and I got a letter from her asking why. She was upset and actually thought it wasn't enough for me to bother cashing.
I'm sure a lot of people will say , just give it, or more back to her on her birthday, I have tried this too and she will then give me an earful about how she doesn't need charity.
Yes she is frustrating and very independent. This is why I love her so much.
So, should I keep cashing the checks?
The "Daily Dilemma" on the Sean and Richie Show is featured every weekday morning at 6:40am. We and the listeners take on someone's problems and try to offer different perspectives. Now, these don't have to be huge problems- it could just be something bothering you or a friend, or it could be some little thing you and another just can't agree on. If you have a dilemma to share we'd love to hear it just e-mail us here at the show.
