Dive Into Autumn With Fort Ticonderoga’s Heritage, Harvest, And Horse Festival
Autumn is here, and that means festival season in Upstate New York. One of the most storied and popular Harvest festivals is making a return in 2026, so here's all you need to know.
Heritage, Harvest, and Horse Festival
On October 3rd, Fort Ticonderoga will host their annual Heritage, Harvest, and Horse Festival. Set against the magnificent autumn backdrops of the Adirondacks and Green Mountains, this festival is meant to give families a chance to learn how vital horses and other work animals were throughout history.
There will be demonstrations, a meet & greet with a friendly oxen duo, and activities that are fun for the whole family.
Events to Take Part In
Aside from the horses, this festival has loads of fun for everyone, including the six acre Heroic Corn Maze, Horse-Drawn Wagon Rides, Flower Arranging, and so much more.
One of the more interesting events is the Fascine-A-Thon, building fascines (bundles of sticks used to fortify trenches) alongside working oxen to truly experience what it was like to protect the fort against British attack in 1776.
