Amsterdam will be celebrating everything German this weekend. It's their annual Oktoberfest with a day filled with contests, entertainment, vendors, live music, and more. The Amsterdam Tourism, Marketing & Recreation Department turns the Southside of Amsterdam into a huge Oktoberfest Block Party along Bridge Street on Saturday, October 9th from 11 am until 7 pm according to their press release.

The German-themed block party will feature Biergarten specials and traditional German food and vendors. There will be a DJ playing authentic Oktoberfest music throughout the day and live music with Vegas Crush starting at 1 pm then MedRock will play at 4:30 pm. Make sure you check out the Yodeling Contest happening at noon. Then the fun Stein Hoisting Competition will take place later in the day at 5:45 pm.

You don't have to show up in a lederhosen or enter the Yodeling Contest to have a great time in the Southside of Amsterdam at Oktoberfest. All you have to do is enjoy live music, great authentic German food, and hoist up a beer to all that is good at Oktoberfest. It's a family fun event so bring the kids too.

It's the fifth annual Oktoberfest presented by Lou's Electric of Amsterdam. Because of the pandemic last year, Oktoberfest had to be postponed. Get ready to all gather together and celebrate everything German this year in Amsterdam.
