The weather is getting nicer and little by little more events are being scheduled in this "new normal" after the pandemic. One of the most anticipated events that draw thousands in Schenectady County will return this summer.

Amsterdam will be celebrating everything German this weekend. It's their annual Oktoberfest with a day filled with contests, entertainment, vendors, live music, and more. The Amsterdam Tourism, Marketing & Recreation Department turns the Southside of Amsterdam into a huge Oktoberfest Block Party along Bridge Street on Saturday, October 9th from 11 am until 7 pm according to their press release.

Many new changes are coming to Americade this year in Lake George. One of the highlights is a two day block party that happens next week.

Nearly 200,000 motorcycle enthusiasts will head to Lake George in June for Americade. There are a few changes including a parade, bigger block parties and a ride for kids.

Country superstar Dierks Bentley may not have a scheduled tour stop here in the Capital Region any time soon, but that doesn't mean he won't make a special visit to your home town here in the 518.  Win a block party, complete with a LIVE performance from Dierks himself.  Here's how you can win:

This was a major thrill.  I've done little things here and there over the years, but there was so much of a time constraint in the past for local acts that it really was difficult.  That's what I loved about this year's Countryfest the most - it gave a lot of Capital Region artists  the chance to show their wares, and the Lost Cantina Band was nice enough to let me do the same.
