The 12th Annual Greenwich Lighted Tractor Parade is set to shine brighter than ever this weekend with an exciting new route for 2024.

Having grown up in the city of Mechanicville and now living there with my family, Family Day in Talmadge Park was always a big deal. Although the past two years the day-long event had to be canceled because of COVID-19, it's making a strong return this year.

Amsterdam will be celebrating everything German this weekend. It's their annual Oktoberfest with a day filled with contests, entertainment, vendors, live music, and more. The Amsterdam Tourism, Marketing & Recreation Department turns the Southside of Amsterdam into a huge Oktoberfest Block Party along Bridge Street on Saturday, October 9th from 11 am until 7 pm according to their press release.

Gun violence has been a growing problem in Capital Region neighborhoods. Now Watervliet is going to do a program in an attempt to get guns off of their city streets. The Attorney General, Letitia James is sponsoring the gun buyback event that will happen this weekend.

This weekend marks National Hunting and Fishing Day and will also allow New Yorkers to have a full day of free fishing. There are several free fishing days throughout the year and this one will be held Saturday, September 25th in all New York waterways. This free fishing day will be the fifth out of the sixth of the year.
