Just in time for spring, this major ice cream chain is offering free cones. Plus the money raised in donations that day is going to a charity that helps children. Dairy Queen will give away free vanilla ice cream cones on Tuesday, March 20th. Not only are they celebrating the beginning of spring, but they are hoping to raise hundreds of thousands of dollars for the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals.

You can get your free cones while they last, one per person, and although they are not charging for the treat, they are hoping customers will donate to this great organization. Dairy Queen has been doing the free cone giveaway for four years. Last year they raised over $300,000.

The Bernard & Millie Duker Children's Hospital At Albany Medical Center is one of the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals that would receive the donations from the free cone day.

There are two Dairy Queen locations in the area. There is a Dairy Queen Grill and Chill on Central Avenue in Colonie and one on State Route 66 in Ghent. (The Crossgates Mall location, or any mall location, is not participating in free cone day.)
