Country Icon Doesn’t Fiddle Talking Career Longevity And Current Crop Of Country Stars
Charlie Daniels is the 82-year-old country, bluegrass, Southern rock, old-school fiddlin' icon who hasn't lost a step when it comes to entertaining his fans, or entertaining his thoughts. It's hard to believe that his country-crossover smash 'Devil Went Down To Georgia' is forty years old! We had the pleasure of catching up with the Country Music Hall of Famer and he chatted with us about a litany of things. From the first time he ever picked up a fiddle to his thoughts on the today's crop of country stars like Luke Bryan and Keith Urban, Daniels talked candidly and honestly. He even made zero apologizes after admitting that he's never even listened (or perhaps heard of) some of today's biggest country stars. Also in this interview, you may be surprised to find out who he thinks does the best cover of 'Devil'. Daniels even shared with us an interesting perspective on one of my all time favorites - the great Johnny Cash - and I got chills when he told us what it was like to be be in the same room as the 'man in black'.
Travis Tritt and The Charlie Daniels Band will be at the Cool Insuring Arena in Glens Falls on Sunday, June 23rd. For ticket and show information, click here.
