Beautiful Adirondack Balloon Festival Begins This Week!
The 51st annual Adirondack Balloon Festival is set to return from Thursday, September 19th through Sunday, September 22nd, and it's free. Over 70 balloons across the United States and beyond will grace the skies during this awesome event.
The 51st Adirondack Balloon Festival Schedule
Thursday, September 19th:
The event will kick off at Crandall Park with an opening musical performance by the Jonathan Newell Band from 4 pm to 6 pm. At 5 pm, the opening ceremonies will begin, along with the start of food vendor services and kids' activities. From around 5:30pm to 6:15 pm, up to 15 balloons will take flight, possibly including special shapes. Later in the evening, from 7 pm to 9 pm, the NY Players will perform, with the Balloon Moonglow set to begin around 7:45 pm.
Friday, September 20th:
At Floyd Bennett Memorial Airport, the gates will open to the public at 3 pm, with a craft fair hosted by Zonta, along with kids' activities and food vendors available throughout the event. From 4pm to 6 pm, there will be a musical performance by The E-Block, followed by a balloon flight from 5pm to 6:15 pm, where up to 70 balloons, including special shapes, will take to the skies.
Saturday, September 21st:
At Floyd Bennett Memorial Airport, the event begins early at 5 am with a craft fair by Zonta, kids' activities, and food vendors. From 6:30am to 7:30 am, over 100 balloons, including special shapes, will take flight. In the afternoon, there will be a musical performance by the Sam Luke Trio from 2 pm to 4 pm, followed by The RasinBeats performing from 5 pm to 7 pm. During this time, another balloon flight will take place from 5 pm to 6:15 pm, featuring up to 50 balloons, including special shapes. The evening will conclude with the Lighting Up the Night Moonglow at 7:45 pm, showcasing over 40 illuminated balloons.
Sunday, September 22nd:
At Floyd Bennett Memorial Airport, the day begins at 5 am with a craft fair hosted by Zonta, along with kids' activities and food vendors. At 6:30 am, up to 100 balloons, including special shapes, will take flight. The event will wrap up by 10 am when the gates close.
