Capital Region Boy Fighting Cancer Has Special Encounter With His Favorite: Jelly Roll
Jelly Roll performed at MVP Arena in Albany, NY on Tuesday night. His show was inspirational and an amazing experience. But he went above and beyond to make one Capital Region kid fighting cancer a night he will never forget.
At ten-years-old Mason from Glens Falls was diagnosed with brain cancer. Having always been a huge Jelly Roll fan, Mason would listen to his music throughout his cancer battle. After Jelly Roll announced he would be coming to MVP Arena in Albany for almost a year, Samantha, Mason's mom, and other friends and family did everything they could to get Mason's story to Jelly Roll and possibly meet him.
They weren't sure if would ever happen. Even though they had floor seats, they thought that was as close as they would get. A friend of the family met up with Bunny XO, Jelly Roll's wife before the show and shared Mason's story. Immediately Bunny XO told the friend to call the family and get backstage. Mason's wish was coming true!
Jelly Roll met with Mason and his family briefly but told them it wasn't enough time. He wanted to spend as much time as he could with Mason. Jelly asked if they could come back to visit with him after the show. They did and it was everything and more.
Listen as Samantha, Mason's mom shares their experience and gives an amazing update about Mason's health.
There will be a fundraiser for Mason this weekend. Here are the details:
