Chick-fil-A Changes The Plan For Its Two Capital Region Locations

Over the summer it was announced that the Capital Region will be getting two Chick-fil-As. The first one would go in the already crowded area near Clifton Park Center and the other off of Troy-Schenectady road in the Colonie/Latham area. That was the announcement, now there are concerns brought up by town officials. The proposals are going through the planning boards and some changes are already being made.

The Plans Are Being Reviewed for Clifton Park Location

The old Pier 1 store on Clifton Park Center Road next to the 99 Restaurant and across from Starbucks is where they are proposing the Chick-fil-A. It will be a 5,000 square-foot restaurant, along with a drive-thru, and outdoor seating. Right now the Clifton Park Technical Advisory Committee is reviewing the proposal before it is handed off to the planning board.

What Are the Changes That Chick-fil-A Has Made to the Proposal?

Chick-fil-A has already agreed to move the front of the building closer to the road so that the restaurant is more visible to Clifton Park Center Road. They will replace the sidewalk in front of the building and put in a new crosswalk according to Albany Business Review. The planning board will vote on the changes and possibly a fine site plan in February.

What About the Latham Chick-fil-A?

The proposal submitted in August has the restaurant going into the current Brick House Tavern location near Latham Farms off of Troy-Schenectady Road in Latham. This Chick-fil-A location is still in the preliminary stages. So far just the initial project materials have been submitted. The Town of Colonie is still waiting for the full application and concept plan. What we know right now is they have proposed a 5,000 square foot restaurant with a drive-thru and outdoor seating.
