Make sure you check the food you are giving your dog. There is a major recall of more dry dog food brands. There have been a lot of dog food recalls recently and now the Food and Drug Administration is adding more to the list. According to News 10 ABC, the FDA received complaints that dogs eating these foods were experiencing vitamin D toxicity.

Dogs that consume the dry food that has high levels of vitamin D can lead to life-threatening side effects and kidney failure. Veterinarians say to look for symptoms in your pet that include vomiting, sluggish behavior, drooling and loss of appetite.

There are tips when buying dog food. Experts say to look for an AAFCO label on the side of the bags. This tells you that there was a feeding trial that was done to guarantee that the food is safe for your pet.
