Check Out Mechanicville’s ‘Anything That Floats’ Homemade Boats!
It's that time of year again! The water is cold and the competition is heating up. It's the annual White Water Derby in Mechanicville. Canoe and kayakers from all over the Capital Region race down Anthony Kill Creek. But there is another reason why spectators come. It's the "Anything That Floats" category.
What's "Anything That Floats"?
It's exactly what you think it is! If you can build it, inflate it, or construct a vessel that you and your friends can use as a boat, you can enter this category! In the past, we have seen just about anything too from inflatables to cardboard boxes made to look like a train engine complete with conductors.
