Your Town Thursday

Hudson - you might be a tough town to beat.  Lots of response, and a ton of "clicks" on our website to hear the tune.  I really appreciate it.  Now who's next?

Here you go, Hudson. This was written under great duress, but somehow it came out of my head and my mouth OK.  I hope you like it (and apologies to the late John Denver for the use of his song "Thank God I'm a Country Boy"

I guess the directions couldn't get much simpler than that. You nominate a Capital Region town and provide me some facts to get started, and I'll create a ditty for you.  Here are some suggestions

Sean, Bethany, and I are going to take the show on the road this Friday. We're going to broadcast live from the Hannaford Supermarket on Route 146.  I'd like to also come prepared to sing a song about your town.

Your Town  Thursday is back in full swing. I would love to write a song about your little corner of the world.   And even if I have written about your song, we can always do a part two!

True confessions: this song comes out of my archives. I wrote this several moons ago, but I think it still holds up in light of news I just saw today about wealth.

I'm still a man on a mission here. I am doggedly determined to write a song about every single town in the Capital Region and beyond. Who will be next?   Your town could be added to the coveted list of great little locations around this area that have been "rhymed."  ...

Bennington, Vermont. Here is your little ditty.  I wish I had more information. I know there has to be much more about your town but my rule is- I go with what you give me.

I did this one LIVE on the air, in real time (literally).  The information was coming in "the day of" and I had no choice. Thank God for long songs this morning so I had time to write!  Here is what I came up with, for better or worse!

Mechanicville (or is it MechanicSville?) Anyway, it's about time that your fine city had a theme song written for you!  And with the help of many loyal Facebook friends, your wishes have been officially granted!
