Double M, Field of Horrors, Zombie Zip Lines, Nightmares at Liberty Ridge, and the various corn mazes in the Capital Region are certainly narrowing the gap, but can they ever surpass the Headless Horseman; the best haunted attraction in New York?  What's your favorite and how does it compare?

Local farm owners and businesses have realized that hayrides, corn mazes, zip-lines, and haunted houses are big money and a big deal this time of year. This isn't a knock on the many well produced theatrical haunted attractions in the Capital Region, but for my money, I take the short one hour drive to Ulster, NY to the Headless Horseman.  To be fair, I haven't tried all the various local haunts and the few I've been to have been quite good!  But for me personally, it's Las Vegas versus Rivers; Disney World versus Six Flags.  Every year around this time, a group of us make the pilgrimage down the mecca of haunted attractions. It's literally a theatrical masterpiece that is equal parts scary and just downright amazing.  They spare NO expense.  The actors are always in creepy character and the attention to every demonic detail is on-point, from the hayride to the haunted houses, they don't slack on any of it.
