Unfortunately, they're also expensive. from vet care to food and toys, it can cost a lot to take care of your furry friends, which is why one Upstate New York Humane Society is thrilled to be cutting their costs.

A Game Changing Donation
Recently, the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society received a donation that will change the way they run their establishment. $45,000 was donated to the society, allowing them to cut costs for certain families.
The donation will allow over 300 cats in the Capital region receive the care that they need, from veterinary care to keeping animals with their found families. It won't just help the cats themselves, it will drastically help owners who may not have had the money to keep up with their cat's care!
Lowering Prices
The main draw of this donation is its ability to allow the Shelter to lower their prices for income eligible families. They will be reducing the costs of examinations, vaccinations, microchipping, and surgery, most specifically Spaying and Neutering.
With this grant, income eligible families will only have to pay $50 for their cat's surgery as opposed to the $190 that they'd usually have to pay. In order to take advantage of reduced fees, you are required to be a New York State Resident and must meet Public Assistance Criteria. You can find out more at the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society Website or by calling them at 518-434-8128.
