Amtrak Offering New Station Stop and Free Tickets for Kids
It's fair season and the biggest one in the state is coming up. The best part? Amtrak is making it easier for you to get there.
The Times Union is reporting that Amtrak is making it easier to get to Syracuse to go to the New York State Fair during its run August 21st through September 2nd.. Amtrak trains will be providing direct service from Albany-Rensselaer station and the brand new Schenectady train station.
As the Times Union reported, "Empire Service trains 281, 283, 284 and 288, and Maple Leaf trains 63 and 64 will stop at the station adjacent to the Fairground. Station code is NYF."
Amtrak is making it even easier for families to visit the New York State Fair together. They're offering a "kids ride free" promotion. As long as there is a paying adult on the same itinerary, you can get one free child ticket to and from the fair. You just need to use the promotional code V153 and purchase the tickets at least three days in advance.
