Amazon Store Coming to Capital Region Mall
Many anchor stores are closing in malls across the country. In order to fill these spaces, it looks like an Amazon store may be filling this void. Rumor is that an Amazon store will open in a mall in the Capital Region. According to TimesUnion.com, Amazon's 4-Star store will be put into a local mall which will be one of thirty-one planned by Amazon nationwide. This location will be one of only two in New York state.
The Times Union business section is reporting that the Amazon 4-Star store will be opening soon in Crossgates Mall. However, we are also hearing that they are looking at closed anchor stores like Sears and JC Penney. When asked about the new Amazon store, Crossgates deferred to Amazon corporate. They say it will open soon, but no date has been set.
The Amazon 4-Star store is called this because it will only carry items that have achieved a four-star rating or higher from Amazon customers. There will also be a section of new and trending items. There are many products including coffee makers, knapsacks, graphing calculators, and Bose wireless headphones. You will be able to try-out most electronics and other devices like Amazon Alexa, games, toys and you will be able to buy books too.
Although it appears that the Amazon 4-Star store is soon to be open in Crossgates Mall, it still will only be of two to be open in New York state. The other is located in Manhattan's SoHo neighborhood.
