Popular Dessert Franchise Bringing Its First East Coast Location to Albany

There’s something sweet coming to Western Avenue, and dessert lovers might want to mark their calendars.

The building across from the University at Albany and next to the plaza with Smoothie King, Jersey Mike’s, and Dave’s Hot Chicken is about to get a serious sugar upgrade.

A new dessert spot is moving in, and it’s not your average bakery or ice cream shop. This place is all about over-the-top treats that let you mix, match, and build your own creations. Think fluffy crepes, golden waffles, and pancakes piled high with toppings. Add in ice cream cups, fancy drinks, shakes, and even European chocolates, and you’ve got a dessert lover’s dream menu.

The store will also serve the viral knafeh chocolate bar, sometimes called a Dubai chocolate bar, which has been making waves online for its mix of crispy, creamy, and chocolatey goodness.

So, who’s behind this new dessert wonderland? It’s Chocolate Bash, a California-based brand that started in Newport Beach back in 2016. Since then, it’s grown to more than 20 locations in a dozen states and several countries. The Albany spot will be the first in New York and on the entire East Coast.

The grand opening is set for November 1st, and it’s the latest in a wave of new franchises popping up along Western Avenue. Between Dave’s Hot Chicken, Smoothie King, and the soon-to-open Savvy Sliders, it looks like this stretch of road is quickly becoming a foodie hotspot.
