After 8 Yrs Another Albany County Eatery Closing Due to Pandemic
Many businesses have been struggling after the pandemic, and most have been restaurants. The pandemic claims another one, this time in Albany County.
Another Small Eatery is Closing Its Doors
The Delmar Bistro tucked in the corner of the Hannaford Plaza (180 Delaware Ave) in Delmar has made the difficult decision to close after eight years.
The announcement came from Delmar Bistro's owner, Cindy Leffler on its Facebook page simply stating,
April 29th will be our last day of service. It has been our pleasure to be here for the past 8 years. We are grateful for all of your support over the years.
The responses to that post were overwhelming. All the comments added that they were very sorry to hear the news and loved Delmar Bistro. One wrote they were "heartbroken" to find out they were closing.
Why Is Delmar Bistro Closing?
Owner Cindy Leffler told News 10 ABC,
We just can’t survive the aftermath of the pandemic. We incurred debt trying to stay afloat through it and I just want to cut my losses. It doesn’t look like things will improve anytime soon. All of the mom-and-pop businesses are hanging on by a thread. It’s a shame.
Delmar Bistro Will Be Open Until The End of the Month
The last day Delmar Bistro will be open is April 29th. Then after eight years, they will close for good. Delmar Bistro is open Tuesday through Saturday from 11 am until 9 pm.
