With the start of 2019, everyone tends to jump on the "New Year, New Me" trend. Every year, this is the year things are going to be different, or so you think.

Listen, I'm not speaking for everyone. Sometimes people sneak through the cracks and end up losing weight with what they've started with the new year. I tend to never be one of those people, though. The reason, though, I don't think is my fault. In no particular order, here are four

  1. When Olive Garden releases their Never Ending Pasta Pass, it sells out in minutes. Minutes. The pass gets you unlimited servings of pasta, sauce, and toppings in a single visit and people post reminders since it sells out so quickly.
  2. Someone invented the "Pizza Fork," a pizza cutter with a fork on the end. The Kickstarter has raised $2,300. People have actually donated money to make eating pizza easier. Pizza is one of the easiest foods to eat but we need an even faster way to get it to our mouths.
  3. Arby's announced on Tuesday a new subscription box (shortly after their recent announcement of a 5 meat sandwich but that's for a different list). The $25 boxes sold out in under an hour. Arby swag and coupons will be delivered each month on the regular and it sold out in under an hour.
  4. Taco Bell announced that on January 19th, they will be putting up a billboard in Downtown Toronto that will dispense unlimited nacho cheese. Can we honestly get any fatter than that? I don't think I have to go into detail why this is a prime example of how we, as a society, are staying fat.

As I said, don't get me wrong, there are people who can see through all of this and still lose weight with a new year. If you, like me, are one of those people who can't, blame it on something on this list and you may not be healthier in the new year but it still may make you feel better!
