Heartbreaking Find: 21 Dead Dogs at a Kennel in Washington County
A local kennel that, according to its website, aimed to "provide the very best pet care for dogs, cats, and other pets as well" is under investigation after authorities uncovered a heartbreaking discovery.
21 Dogs Found Dead at Local Kennel
According to a report, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office confirms they were called to Anastasia’s Acres Dog Boarding in the Town of Argyle after receiving intel about "multiple deceased animals."
The report says that a total of 21 dogs were found dead at the facility, while one surviving dog was rushed to an emergency clinic for treatment.
This, despite the website's claim of providing the very "best" for dogs, cats, and other pets.
"Anastasia’s Acres Dog Boarding is in Argyle, NY – located between Albany and Lake George, NY, and right on the Vermont border. The Palulis family operates the business on their 3-acre homestead and has been in business since 2020. Anastasia Acres Dog Boarding provides the very best pet care for dogs, cats, and other pets as well." Anastacia's Acres Dog Boarding website

Owners Fully Cooperating
At this time, no arrests have been made, according to the sheriffs. But that could change.
In the meantime, the report says that Anastasia Palulis, who owns Anastasia’s Acres, is "cooperating fully with investigators."
A veterinarian, along with Argyle Animal Control officers, assisted the Sheriff’s Office at the scene.
Officials emphasize the case remains an active and ongoing investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Washington County Sheriff’s Office Investigation Unit.
What To Do If You Witness Animal Cruelty
If you witness animal cruelty or believe an animal is in danger, report the matter immediately to local law enforcement and your local Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals or other humane enforcement agencies.
Over a decade ago, the Albany County Animal Abuser Registry was established by an act of the Albany County Legislature, known as Local Law K. The registry, hosted by the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society, is a public service.
The following people seen on this list have been convicted of animal cruelty. While it's unclear exactly what they're guilty of, one thing is clear: They are not allowed to own, possess, reside in, have custody of, or intentionally engage in physical contact with any animal.
Period.
