Okay, this is getting out of hand. I mean, really. Can we just please get Uber here already?!

It seems like every time we turn around, New York State lawmakers and the Transportation Association are getting in the way of Uber becoming a thing for us in Upstate New York.

Come on, people! We just want to have a safe, easy, cheaper ride for our commute.

The Upstate Transport Association are saying that there are security concerns. I will agree with them, there should be extensive background checks when it comes to those that become Uber drivers. Yes, go ahead take a fingerprint. Hold them to the same standard as other traffic transportation.

According to GreecePost.com:

Senator Michael Ranzenhofer is pushing to get the green light on Uber.

"It's hard to have strong opposition when you have this in other areas of the state and all throughout the country," Ranzenhofer said.

He thinks the background check and insurance coverage issue can be addressed and he's hoping lawmakers take a look early on in the session.

It's believed that Upstate, New York won't be out of luck much longer. So fingers are crossed for 2017. We'll have to see how things pan out. It just would've been nice to have for a safer holiday season.
