Not happy with your salary? The best way to get a raise is to get a new job.

It sounds harsh, but it is true! According to The Atlantic, those who change jobs typically see a 4.5 percent increase in pay, versus 3.9 percent for those who stay put. It does not seem like much, but studies show you can move up the income ladder faster by changing jobs frequently. Which begs the question - how important is a pay bump to you? If you love living in the Capital Region and you have kids in school, maybe it is not worth it to move for a small increase in pay. And moving every year?  That can get old!
