Volunteering For A Great Cause
There are many causes that I get behind. One that I volunteer for year round is the Mechanicville-Stillwater Breast Cancer Walk. There are many events throughout the year, and I try to help out with all of them. Being from Mechanicville, I have a ton of pride for my hometown. This cause is near and dear to me. Not only because, like all of us, we have been touched by cancer in some way, but because I am happy to be able to volunteer my time and talent to help people in my city.
I find it so rewarding to host the walk itself plus other events that the committee holds throughout the year. It is actually fun for me to be part of all of these fundraising events. Everyone thanks me for volunteering my time, but I thank them in return for allowing me to host such important events.
The Mechanicville-Stillwater Breast Cancer Walk is Sunday October 8th at the Elks Club in Mechanicville. If you would like to walk or volunteer, please click here.
Here is another way to volunteer. Over the last 3 years, GNA’s Capital District High School Hunger Games presented by SEFCU and the US Marines has raised over 50,000 pounds to feed the hungry in Greater Albany. And as we get ready for our 4th year, the need for food is greater than ever. Brought to you by Albany Med Emurgent Care.
If you want your school to be a part of the games, you have to enter by 11:59PM on Tuesday, September 26th. If your school wins the Hunger Games, then you’ll win an exclusive performance from LANco.
