Upstate Sheriffs Warn of Suspicious Man Driving Blue Truck
Beware and watch your children
According to Sheriffs in Montgomery County, a post began circulating throughout the area warning residents about a blue truck seen in the Village of Fultonville asking kids if they want a ride, and they addressed it on their social media yesterday.
Was it a credible threat?
The Montgomery County Sheriffs say that "at this time" there is no criminal activity, but they did allude to the fact that they'll be keeping an eye out for the driver of this blue Nissan Frontier seen in the picture below, but they didn't say why.
Investigated, located, and interviewed
According to the Facebook post, "members of the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office and the New York State Police have investigated, located, and interviewed people involved, including the truck operator," but they found no criminal activity.
They did, however, say that they'll continue to monitor the situation and they "ask for public assistance should something be seen that would change the current circumstances, thank you."
"This is something that is taken very seriously and will continue to be monitored. All investigative options and techniques have been performed and we ask for public assistance should something be seen that would change the current circumstances, thank you." Montgomery County Sheriff's Office
People claim to know a lot about this man
At the time we published this story, there were hundreds of comments and nearly 1,000 shares of the post. Many people from Montgomery County have shared ideas on the Facebook page suggesting that they know who the driver is and thanked the police for monitoring the situation.
Others tried to warn residents that he may have peeled many of the stickers off of his Nissan Frontier in an attempt to be more discreet.
One of the comments on the Facebook page came from a concerned woman named Aundrea A. Dev who wrote:
"It's sad that (there are) all these comments from ppl knowing exactly who he is because he's known for preying on children. Saying he's even been banned from local grocery and department stores for it and there's nothing the police can do about it? So something actually has to happen to a child for something to be done?! It's sick!"
