Updated Upstate New York Snowfall Predictions For Tonight’s Storm
How much snow will you be getting tonight in Upstate New York?
After some very mild temperatures last week Old Man Winter has decided to wake back up, somewhat. While we are not seeing blistering cold or expecting massive amounts fo snowfall over the next 24 hours, winter will remind us that there is still plenty of the season left.
We have a Winter Weather Advisory for most of the Capital Region and Upstate New York and a Winter Storm Warning for the North Country, in effect from 1 pm today (Weds. 2/22) until 4 pm tomorrow (Thurs. 2/23) The latest First Warning Forecast from News Channel 13 says this storm will get going later this afternoon and evening with most of the snowfall occurring overnight with a shift to sleet and freezing rain tomorrow for most of the area.
Here is the breakdown for areas of Upstate New York according to News Channel 13:
Warrensburg/Adirondacks:
The biggest snowfall totals from this storm will hit the North Country with 6 to 12 inches expected.
Saratoga Springs/Gloversville
Saratoga Country and areas west can expect 3 to 6 inches of accumulation.
Syracuse/Utica
Heading out west, the predicted snowfall for Utica and Syracuse is 3 to 6 inches.
Cobleskill/Oneonta
Points west of the Albany area can expect 1 to 3 inches of snow.
Watertown
Watertown can expect 6 to 12 inches of accumulation.
Albany/Schenectady/Troy
The tri-cities can expect 1 to 3 inches of snow.
