Unsolved Mysteries of the Capital Region [LIST]
Do you remember Unsolved Mysteries with Robert Stack? They started streaming on Netflix and I can't stop watching. It got me thinking, do we have any Capital Region unsolved mysteries?
If, of course, you have any information on any of these cases, reach out to either your local police department or the department where these crimes occured. The Times Union broke down a few of these cases last year, if you know of others let us know.
- I remember this horrible story from October 2014 when Jin Chen, 39, his wife, Hai Yan Li, 38, and their sons, Anthony, 10, and Eddy, 7 were killed in Guilderland. It was all over the news but what you may not know is that the crime has yet to be solved even after help local and Albany County investigators, the New York Police Department, the FBI, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and others.
- In another story, Jaliek Rainwalker went missing from his adoptive parents house in 2007. Police were leaning toward foul play so when skeletal remains were found, they assumed they belonged to Rainwalker but instead ended up opening another unsolved case.
- Further back, in 1908, Hazel Irene Drew was murdered in Sand Lake until she was found in Teal's Pond in Rensselaer County. The story became so well known that it was used as a plot for the show "Twin Peaks," but the murderer was never found.
I only picked a few to focus on but for the rest, check out the Times Union.
