Two Sweet Pups Abandoned; Police in Troy Want to Know Why
Heartbreaking Photo of Abandoned Dogs
The photo is heartbreaking, as both of the handsome (and seemingly lost) doggies look a little nervous in the back seat of a stranger's car. One of the dogs appeared to have a collar, and they both seemed relatively healthy and well-groomed. Who would leave them unattended and why?
That's what Troy police want to find out, as according to a report from Sidewinder Photography, the two pictured pups were found wandering the streets of Troy over the weekend.
Who Could Have Abandoned Them, and Why?
I saw Sidewinder Photography's Facebook post over the weekend, and we thought someone reading this right now might have some answers. While both dogs could certainly use a little TLC, they don't appear battered or bruised; both seem relatively well-groomed.
So what happened?
Did they wander away from their owners, or did something happen to them? Regardless of the circumstances, the Troy Police hope to be able to turn them over to their rightful owners or find them a new forever home.
Owners Yet to Come Forward
We contacted Sidewinder Photography, known for covering emergency scenes and breaking news in the City of Troy, NY, and the Capital Region. They told us officers were on patrol Sunday night when they received word about the two dogs.
Troy Police are asking for the public's help in locating the owners of these two beautiful dogs. They were found unattended in the area of the Gorge (Linden Avenue).

"Last night, while officers were on patrol, they received a call about two dogs found near the Poestenkill Gorge. A patrol officer safely secured the dogs and notified the command staff of the situation," they explained.
Sidewinder told us that the staff quickly posted the photos to help locate the owner, but as of Monday morning, the owner(s) have yet to come forward while adding, "I truly hope these two dogs find a loving home that will care for them."
