Troy Department Store Closing It’s Doors
A department store on Hoosick Street in Troy is going out of business and closing it's doors after 5 years.
According to the Times Union, Peebles Department Store will close it's doors for good in Troy on January 19th. The newspaper informs us that the department store - which sells men's, women's and children's good as well as beauty products - will shut down it's Hoosick Street location, but the store in East Greenbush will not be affected.
According to the report, Peebles in in 42 states and is headquartered in Houston under a variety of names including Bealls, Goody's and Palais Royal. The company has about 800 stores nationwide.
The 'Going Out of Business' sign is sure to be an attraction for shoppers looking to take advantage of close-out deals as the holidays approach.
The Times Union reminisced about the store opening 5 years ago, insinuating that there were large 'lines when it opened this week in 2013'.
