When we heard our childhood was closing, we were crushed. Apparently we didn't have to wait too long because they opened their first US retail store and it's not too far away.

A brand-new Toys "R" Us opened Wednesday morning in Paramus, New Jersey, according to WNYT. Toys "R" Us announced that they were closing all of their US locations in June 2018 after 70 years.

Toys "R" Us announced that they would be reopening stores back in the summer and finally, they opened their first. The opening was considered a soft opening with the grand opening happening this Saturday. Geoffrey the Giraffe was on hand to welcome guests to what some are calling "unrecognizable" compared to the stores we're used to.

Apparently, it's a "different concept" and not like the big store we're used to. It's similar to a smaller toy store rather than the large mall stores. The next location is planned for Houston, Texas but, for now, we're only a short two-hour drive from the store we thought was gone for good.
