From the minute I heard that TanPoPo was opening dangerously close to my house, I've been counting down the days. I can't believe my countdown is now to single digits because it's opening soon!

TanPoPo Ramen & Sake made its debut in Albany in 2015 in the old Miss Albany Diner building. We heard about a year or so ago that they were opening the location in Schenectady but other than that, no update, until earlier this week. Owner Dave Zheng posted on Facebook that the week is here and TanPoPo Schenectady will be opening this Friday, May 24th. Zheng, the owner of Albany's Sake Cafe on New Scotland Ave, is excited to be taking TanPoPo to a much bigger space, sharing the same delicious food you're familiar with in Albany, according to the Times Union.

What's interesting is that Zheng mentioned that it will not offer delivery and "discourages takeout" since he doesn't believe his food travels well. They will have a liquor license but will not serve liquor, it's just to cover sake.
