Thousands of people are flocking to Saratoga every day this summer to take part in a pastime that has been going on at the Racecourse for more than 150 years, but not everyone is so excited.

It's been hot and humid here in the Capital Region. It's definitely summer, but it doesn't quite feel like summer until the horn is playing, the bets are in and the horses are on the track.

So I'm driving home past Albany International Airport yesterday, 8/26, and this huge hauler is creeping by me in the other direction complete with police escort.  Gee- what's all the fuss about?

I thought I would pass along some of the incredible events going on at Saratoga this week.

Will American Pharoah run in the Travers at Saratoga? The short answer is , probably not.That doesn't mean however that it is any way ruled out. I know that we would all love to see the only living Triple Crown Winner up close in Saratoga, and with a million dollar purse, why wouldn't Zayat Stables want to win more money...

This morning on the show, Sean, Richie and I talked about amazing race horse names in honor of this weekend's upcoming Kentucky Derby. Some of my favorite include "Fat and Slow," "Heading to the Glue Factory," "Double Bypass," and "Baldylocks...

It was just a couple of months ago I had written a blog about "Far From Over",a horse I was so excited to see in this year's Kentucky Derby. Far From Over lived up to the name coming back from a bad start and blowing by the competition at Aqueduct to become a favorite to compete in this year's derby, but a hind lag fracture has that horse sidelined and it's time to look for another horse

I'm not sure that this horse will be the Kentucky Derby favorite this year, but I am betting he will be your personal favorite. I am still amazed by the gutsy ride this horse had this weekend at Aqueduct.

The second leg of the Triple Crown Almost here!  The 139th running of the Preakness Stakes will be run at Pimlico Race Course Saturday, that’s tomorrow!
