The DEC says Amelia caught a 29 pound, 14 ounce freshwater drum in June that was big enough to break the previous NY State record for freshwater drums by more than 3 pounds...

According to GrindTV the world's largest "alligator gar" fish was caught in Lake Corpus Christi in Texas. The fish is over 8 feet tall and weighs around 300 pounds. The man who caught it, Brent Crawford, has lived on the lake for 20 years. Crawford originally shot the gar with an arrow while standing on the bank, needed a pistol to eventually kill it.
