According to GrindTV the world's largest "alligator gar" fish was caught in Lake Corpus Christi in Texas. The fish is over 8 feet tall and weighs around 300 pounds. The man who caught it, Brent Crawford, has lived on the lake for 20 years. Crawford originally shot the gar with an arrow while standing on the bank, needed a pistol to eventually kill it.

To put this in perspective, the fish is about as long as a small car. Although Crawford hasn't brought the fish in to be officially weighed, his home scale bottomed out at 300 lbs. We don't know if the fish is actually prehistoric... but it looks pretty old and freaky. I don't know about you guys, but I will probably NOT  be swimming in a lake any time soon this summer.
