Vinnie posted yesterday about how the Capital Region Walmart is the biggest in the United States. Did you know that? A bunch of Redditors made a list of other things about the Capital Region you may not have known.

I love this time of year. There's something about the holiday season and the holiday spirit in everything that brings a smile to my face. Luckily, here in the Capital Region, there are a ton of things to do and in the next two weeks, I want to do all of them.

After next week, we're not going to be "The 518" anymore, we'll include 838. That means you have to go through all of your contacts and add 518 to their number, who wants to do that? Thankfully, you can get help!

When I mention to you a list of the richest places to live in the 518 area you probably have an area or two that pops in your mind but based on actual data and facts, are your assumptions true?

It seems like a strange question since I've lived here my whole life but have you ever really thought about it? Where are the borders of the term "Capital Region/Capital District?"

I get it, it's a hard word to spell and to say but if you're going to make a list of the top US City Names You're Pronouncing Wrong and educating people on how to pronounce it properly, you better get it right.

I'm looking to buy a house right now so aside from taxes, I've been looking at areas that make the most sense to settle down. I obviously want a house in a great neighborhood where I can make money on the house after some time. I was incredibly fascinated with this list of the wealthiest zip codes in the Capital Region.

It's May 18th and in other words, it's 5/18 or 518 Day! I've lived in the Capital Region my entire life and I love supporting not only my hometown of Schenectady but the entire area I come from so Happy #518Day!

Reddit is one of my favorite websites. It's probably the first website I check out every day to see what's trending online, especially the local subreddits. I like to know locally what everyone is talking about and with Uber and Lyft coming to New York/the Capital Region in July, it's not a surprise that it's a topic on the local front page.

I'm sure if I said to you, "What do you think of when I said 'Upstate New York,'" you'd have something that pops right in your head. We all have something that we think of when we think of our hometown, but it seems like it's different for everyone.

The Times Union published a great article about the safest New York towns and cities. In the article they used recently published F.B.I. crime statistics to find the areas in the Capital Region with the lowest violent crime. You might find some of the results surprising.
