Student Disciplined For Making Threat Against Shenendehowa High School
New York State Police informed the Shenendehowa School District this morning that a potential threat was made by a student. The student has been located and disciplined.
According to the statement released by the high school, another student saw a post on social media and alerted their parents who called the police.
Although we don’t know who this student is that saw the threat, I want to thank them for their quick call to action. Hopefully it reminds and encourages everyone if you see something say something!! Glad everyone is safe and sound!
Here is the release:
Dear Parents/Guardians,
This morning the high school administration was alerted by the New York State Police of a potential threat to the school that they became aware of earlier today. We worked with the police to identify the student. The student did not have the means to carry out such a threat, yet we took the threat seriously.
The school is working with the State Police and the student has been disciplined within the guidelines of the Code of Conduct. We are grateful to the student who saw this threat on social media and who brought it to the attention of her parent who contacted the police.
Please feel free to contact me with questions or concerns about this or any other matter related to the high school. I may be reached at 881-01310, ext. 61415 or at flyndona@shenet.org.
Sincerely,
Donald FlyntPrincipal
