There was a time when the Siens men's basketball team ruled the Capital Region every March, giving us the perfect mixture of pure madness and pride that only sports can provide.  The 2018 MAAC basketball tournament was a way for the Siena Saints to recreate the kind of magic we've seen in the past, but not even the great David Blaine could give their season life. The Saints vanished in a cloud of smoke; bounced from the MAAC tournament tonight in Albany, losing to Qunnipiac 67-58 ending their season. The Saints won only 8 times all year.

Give the Saints some credit.  They clawed and scratched their way back to make the final score somewhat respectable after being down by 24 at the intermission.  The Saints outscored Quinnipiac 42-27 in the second half and actually cut the deficit to 10 with about 2 minutes left to go oin the game.  Siena was led by Khalil Richard who had 12 points in 36 minutes. The Saints finish the season 8-24.
