I'm from Schenectady so I'm a little biased. I love seeing new businesses opening in my hometown and now I don't have to drive to Troy anymore for this restaurant!

Schenectady Metroplex announced yesterday afternoon that The Whistling Kettle has decided on Schenectady for their third location in the Capital Region. So far, they're planning for a Spring 2019 opening in the heart of Downtown Schenectady at 138 Jay Street which is currently unoccupied and has been since 2002.

If you're a fan of the locations in Ballston Spa and Troy, they said that you'll be able to find the same menu and tea selections when the Schenectady restaurant opens in the spring.

One of the principles of The Whistling Kettle, Meahgan Borowsky, commented on the decision of Schenectady and its future by saying: "We are excited to create a unique design that will fit in with the rest of downtown but keeps the comfortable and inviting aspects that are a signature element of the Whistling Kettle experience. Each location has its own distinctive feel and personality - but in the end we strive to provide the same quality experience across all locations, and to promote our slow-down-and-drink-tea philosophy."
