‘Saved by the Bell’ Actor to Hold Local Movie Premiere
One "Saved by the Bell" actor will not only be attendance to a local screening of their movie in a couple of weeks, but apparently the movie was filmed here too!
Dustin Diamond, better known as his character Screech from "Saved by the Bell," will be in town in the next couple of weeks for a movie screening. Diamond had been in quite a few reincarnations of the "Saved by the Bell" franchise for 13 years until they ended in 2000. Now, apparently, he's doing movies.
Diamond is starring in the movie short "Catching Up" directed by Shane Alden of New Light Media Films in Hoosick Falls, according to the Times Union. The short is about a teenage girl who follows her deserted mother's path by going into the music business. After being shown in Glens Falls, they will send it to Amazon to hopefully be accepted into their film library.
The showing will also include other shorts that were filmed in the area from Kingston to Lake George. Tickets are $13 and the showing will be at the Park Theater is at 14 Park Street.
