Gilbert, the Pot-Bellied Pig

A runway pot-bellied pig was rescued in Rensselaer County thanks to a good samaritan and the Rensselaer County Sheriff's Office

The pig, apparently named Gilbert, had been galavanting through town on Monday when it was spotted by a good samaritan, who called it to the police.

"A passerby contacted Deputies to report a pig on the loose. Deputies stayed with the pig until the owner was located and could bring him back home.
Needless to say, Gilbert the pig was happy to be reunited with his owner! - Rensselaer County Sheriff's Department

Praised Pork

Most people praised the work done by the Rensselaer County Sheriff's Office - and here are some comments left on their Facebook page after the rescue.

"Just another reason why our sheriff deputies are the best!! Thank you to all the men and women of the Rensselaer County Sheriff's Department!!!"

"He’s lucky I was the one passing by he would’ve (gone) to the butcher"

"These are the kind of things you never see on the news about the police. We should see a lot more of it. I will always do my best to share."

Dapper-Looking Llama Steals Show at Upstate Wedding

It's an actual llama standing as a groomsman at a wedding recently in Upstate NY - and as you can imagine, he stole the show!
