Responders Search Upstate New York’s Hudson River for Body
On Thursday afternoon, first responders in Upstate New York searched the icy banks of the Hudson River, fearing that someone had fallen in.
After about an hour, the search was called off, but it's unclear if the search will continue on Friday or if it was deemed that no one fell in.
A Person Fell Through the Ice
According to Sidewinder Photography, at 5:41 PM, Troy‘s Fire Department and Troy‘s Police Department were dispatched for a call "for a report of a person through the Ice on the Hudson River underneath the Hoosick Street bridge near the Courtyard by Marriott."
Sidewinder Photography's report says firefighters and members of the New York State Police dive team prepared for the icy waters by donning their rescue suits and heading down to the river where the person allegedly fell in.
Did They Find Anyone?
According to Sidewinder, they did not. Firefighters made their way out of the river and met with state police, and as of 7 pm, no one had been located, and the search was called off.
There is no report if members of the dive team will be back in the water on Friday to continue the search.
