There has been a rash of car thefts in Saratoga County and police are warning residents to be on the look-out. They suspect it's part of a big gang operation. According to a press release from the Saratoga County Sheriff's Office, members of a gang known as the "Felony Lane Gang" have been breaking into vehicles all over Saratoga County.

The gang will steal personal items like wallets and checkbooks and then dress as the victims to try and cash checks at local banks. The FBI has been following this gang for quite some time. They refer to the gang as a very organized identity theft ring that has gangs all throughout the country.

The Felony Lane Gang will target locked and unlocked cars that are parked where people leave their pocketbooks or wallets in their cars. Places like gyms, daycares, playgrounds, and parks.

The Saratoga County Sheriff's Office is asking residents to never leave any of these items in plain sight. They suggest bringing them in with them or lock them in the trunk.
