Thousands of Capital Region residents are without power this morning according to National Grid.  Many of the power outages reported are in the Broadalbin area, which appears to be the epicenter of the disruption.

According to CBS 6 News thousands are without power this morning due to a National Grid outage.  According to the National Grid website, the outage most greatly affected is out in the Broadalbin area while a few in Albany County and Saratoga County appear to be experiencing some malfunctions as well.

Broadalbin, the area most greatly affected, a total of nearly 8,000 customers are without power this morning according to their outage map.

There is no word on what caused the outages but it's more than likely a result of the storm that swept through the Capital Region last night.  At the time of this story being written, National Grid hasn't said publicly when they plan on having it restored.

Estimations for restoration times may fluctuate depending on a variety of things and National Grid explains it on their website with this message:

"It's normal for outage numbers and ETRs to fluctuate. The numbers can go up and down as an ongoing storm causes new outages and/or as we de-energize lines to make conditions safe for repairs and restoration. Additionally, there could be new outages that occur that are separate from storm-related outages."
