Popular Lake George Restaurant Making Major Change After 45 Years
What's happening to this popular, seasonal restaurant after 45 years?
A longtime Lake George village restaurant, popular for its burgers, hot dogs, and sweet treats, just announced a major change after 45 years in business and it took some people by surprise.
In a Facebook post from May 13th, the owners of the A&W Restaurant at 2208 Route 9 in Lake George told their loyal customers that after decades of running one of the more popular seasonal spots in the Adirondacks, it's time to move on.
Here's the message on their Facebook:
"After nearly 45 years in the Madden family, the Lake George A&W is passing the torch onto new ownership. Thank you for your support over the years!"
It was short and simple, but one that really resonated with the folks who regularly dined there.
Many of the comments were from longtime customers who described the restaurant as a "feel good" place they would eat at annually when they visited the region, wishing them well on their retirement.
